Belgian-based conglomerate Etex, a specialist in the manufacture and marketing of high quality building materials and systems, has selected Talentia Software’s global succession planning and performance management module to manage its top tier employees.
Through its subsidiaries, Etex offers an extensive range of products: small and large roofing materials, cladding and building boards, passive fire protection systems and ceramic tiles. Since its inception in 1905, the Group has grown to over 17,000 employees across 44 countries and 116 group companies. The recent acquisition of LaFarge Gypsum and Lafarge Plasterboard UK elevates Etex to one of the three major players in Europe in this sector with annual revenues of around € 2.3 billion.
Talentia’s global talent management software solution was chosen because of its rich functionality, flexibility, intuitive look and feel and the fact that is a simple, but effective succession and performance management tool.
Kathleen De Jode, Etex’s HR Manager with over fifteen years’ experience in implementing systems comments: “We started with a long list of twenty suppliers and shortlisted to five who each received a copy of our Request for Proposal (RFP). From the RFP, three talent management software suppliers made it to the final round. Talentia Software differed from the final three suppliers in that, like us, they are a European headquartered company with great experience in delivering succession planning and performance projects for other large companies across the globe. Their project methodology is also very strong and the fact that Talentia offered us a business partnership and not just a solution is key, particularly as Etex has an extremely lean HR structure with limited resources.”

Etex global talent and performance management software project will apply to the top 1,000 employees before expanding to the top 4,000 employees at a later date.
