Talentia supports AquAid in installing an Elephant Pump in Africa

Talentia Software is pleased to announce that as a result of our decision to invest in water coolers from AquAid, we will be supporting the installation of Elephant Pumps in Africa. Our unique relationship with AquAid has given our organisation the opportunity to help those further afield less fortunate than ourselves.

When an organisation purchases water coolers, AquAid donates the money for Pump Aid, a charity which installs Elephant Pumps. Through this initiative AquAid have donated more than £2,860,514 to Pump Aid resulting in more than 1,500,00 children being supplied with water.

Talentia’s decision to install a water cooler from AquAid means that for each cooler that they have, they have donated £20 per year to The Africa Trust.

Through their contributions to The Africa Trust, an ‘Elephant Pump’ is being installed in Africa on Talentia’s behalf. The Elephant Pump is a modified version of water pump based on an age old Chinese rope pulley system. The pump is built by an experienced member of The Africa Trust in conjunction with local people from the community who are then taught how it works and how to repair it using local materials and parts. This pump will bring much needed clean, fresh drinking water and improve the quality of life of those who will have access to our well.

“We are delighted to be able to support this initiative, and are proud that our company’s name will be displayed on our well,” says Julie Windsor, Managing Director at Talentia Software UK, “We look forward to seeing the positive impact of the well on the community.”

Over the last decade AquAid have donated a percentage of their revenue from the sale of their products to bring water to over 2 million of the worlds’ poorest people. Through their initiatives AquAid has donated over £6 million to charity and £1,637,035 to The Africa Trust.
